Completely refurbished in 2007, the Academy offers superb value for money in a prime location just off O'Connell Street. "I would expect to pay much more for accommodation of this quality" is typical of the comments received from our guests.

"We enjoyed our stay very much, the only negative comment i would like to make is that the windows in our room did not close to create a good seal therefore were drafty (which wasn't a problem because it was a very hot weekend) but let in outside noise which did prevent us from having an undisturbed nights sleep. having said that i would use that hotel again but would possibly request a room at a quite end of the Academy hotel away from the road. The Academy hotel is in an excellent location to get around Dublin centre.

"we booked online the previous night as the bed and breakfast accommodation we had already booked was substandard. when we arrived at 11.30 am the reception staff (anna)allowed us to book in and go to our room at that time. excellent customer service. we felt we were valued customers"

"The Academy hotel was pleasant and clean. The breakfast was a bit dull it could have been more imaginative with a bit more variety. The staff were friendly. When we stayed there was building works next door which was unfortunately noisy. On the whole I think this hotel was good value for money in a very convenient location."

"The Academy hotel was small but beautifully kept. The only problem encountered on our stay was a rather uncomfortable bed but as we were very tired after touring dublin all day, it didn't keep us awake for very long!! The staff were professional and very helpful. Would definitely recommend the restaurant in the Academy hotel. The food was beautifully presented, tasted lovely and was great value for money. I would recommend this hotel for couples wanting to enjoy a weekend stay."

"We arrived in Dublin at 9.30am and the coach from the airport dropped us very close to the Academy hotel. We popped in to just to see if they had anywhere we could leave our flight bags rather than carry them around all day. The receptionist checked our booking and allowed us into our room straight away which was brilliant and so helpful to us. Breakfast was enough to keep us going well into the day and the placement of the Academy hotel is ideal - close enough to walk through to the tourist areas but not too close to be disturbed by the late nights endured in the temple bar area. The only downside was the work being carried out and the scaffolding right outside the room window although not distracting from any views as the only view was to other rooms, we did feel slightly uneasy leaving the window slightly ajar at night, also the room was dark not sure if this was because of all the scaffolding or the general positioning."
