As the reviews here show, the Ashling Hotel has benefitted hugely from the opening of the LUAS tram line in 2004, as well as from its takeover by the Best Western Group. Although well located for Heuston Station (the main train station for the West and South) and the Phoenix Park, the 20-25 minute walk along the quays to O'Connell Street can be too far for some. Today however, its a 5 minute tram ride, with trams passing the door every three minutes.

The friendly atmosphere and staff make the Ashling popular with groups, families and business travellers alike.

Here we felt sufficiently away from the numerous coach parties that were staying at the same time as ourselves, which allowed us a sense of privacy. The rooms were very comfortable, although the TVs require a stronger aerial and a sleep button. We only took breakfast as a meal which provided a variety of very good choices. "

"I can say that we enjoyed our stay with you the whole place was immaculate the rooms the corridors, we thought the attention to detail throughout lacked nothing, all the staff were brilliant, all your international staff the same polite, would respond if spoken to nothing was to much trouble, in the dining room all tables were cleared as soon as they were vacant at breakfast ,a very minor point some of the reception staff forgot to mention that the electricity was controlled by the door card not a major issue ,we and our friends stayed over at the same time 6 of us and we all thought the same we will all be back. best regards malcolm hayter "
