As the reviews here show, the Ashling Hotel has benefitted hugely from the opening of the LUAS tram line in 2004, as well as from its takeover by the Best Western Group. Although well located for Heuston Station (the main train station for the West and South) and the Phoenix Park, the 20-25 minute walk along the quays to O'Connell Street can be too far for some. Today however, its a 5 minute tram ride, with trams passing the door every three minutes.

The friendly atmosphere and staff make the Ashling popular with groups, families and business travellers alike.

"We were in Dublin for the weekend for My friends 30th - there was ten females on the prowl!! As you can imagine we were there for a good time and probably a bit hyper at times. The hotel staff were great, they let us come and go as we pleased and were always polite when telling us not to disturb other guests. They let us sit in the bar area until we choose to go to bed (usually after breakfast was served) and although the bar stopped serving at 12 there was a vending machine that sold alcohol after hours - very impressive!!!! Food and service was great. It was so good were going back in May for my 30th!!!!

"well located on edge of Dublin. easy luas and bus services. handy for guinness factory. quiet location for the people who want a city break but a bit of peace and quiet as well. very good hotel.
