Parkgate Street, Dublin 8. Intl: +353-1-2788093
Fax: 4060222 As the reviews here show, the Ashling Hotel has benefitted hugely from the opening of the LUAS tram line in 2004, as well as from its takeover by the Best Western Group. Although well located for Heuston Station (the main train station for the West and South) and the Phoenix Park, the 20-25 minute walk along the quays to O'Connell Street can be too far for some. Today however, its a 5 minute tram ride, with trams passing the door every three minutes. The friendly atmosphere and staff make the Ashling popular with groups, families and business travellers alike. Ashling Hotel Customer Reviews
"The hotel was great for what we wanted and very reasonable. We have already recommended it to others. "Hotel was in a good location, although the view from the window was disgusting, looked over derelict housing. The rooms were in need of some tlc. ie carpet stained and loosely fitted, scuff marks on the walls, stained bed covers, tile edging in the bathroom loose and coming away from the wall, seal around bath poor. Also the extractor fan failed to switch off after the timeout period. The fault was reported to the staff who were prompt in responding, but could not fix until Monday morning. We were offered complimentary drinks from the bar to " "We enjoyed our stay at your hotel and would stay again. The staff were very helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble to them. All our stay over Ireland we had excellent service and pleasant staff. Unfortunately you do not get this everywhere and we think it is down to your staff training in Ireland, so well done to you all. Thank you for a lovely stay, John, Lynn & Leanne O`Shaughnessy. "On the whole very good. Location was very handy with a tram station outside. Breakfast and service were both excellent. Very good value for money and suited our needs very well. " "Enjoyed my recent stay at the Ashling Hotel Dublin immensely but was most upset when we got to the airport to discover that £70 in English money had gone missing from my travel bag whilst it was in our hotel room. As you can imagine, this spoilt our weekend somewhat. Regards David Ketteringham. " "Bar very small. Could do with a little music at night. Nothing to do in hotel. "It is a very nice hotel and the staff very friendly. I was positively surprised about the position of the hotel. "Nice Hotel. Good food and location, only 20 minutes walk from Temple Bar.
