The Clontarf Castle is one of Ireland's finest and most original hotel's. Originally constructed in 1172, the castle was then given in the 17th century to a loyal servant of Cromwell's army, whose family maintained ownership of the castle for a further three hundred years. It is also the only hotel of its kind located in the Dublin suburban area, just two miles from Dublin city centre.

The hotel exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and those visit Clontarf Castle can make it their home. The hotel offers visitors the opportunity to experience a setting and standard of service which are second to none.

Accommodation

For the truly magical occasion, the hotel boasts three royal suites, four junior suites and seven executive deluxe rooms, each of which are fit for a king or queen. Magnificent four poster beds, satellite televisions, direct dial telephones, trouser presses and hair dryers are among a vast array of features offered in each of the en suite rooms, which when experienced, make your stay a truly regal occasion.

Dining and Entertainment

The Clontarf Castle offers visitors the choice of three venues. They are the award winning Templar's Bistro, the Drawbridge Tavern, and the Knights Bar.

The award winning culinary team at Templar's boasts a superb menu, complemented by a fine wine list. With crafted chandeliers hanging abover and pewter goblets, the Bistro is drowned in medieval atmosphere and is the perfect setting for a light lunch or delightful evening meal.

The drawbridge pub is quite a relaxed, contemporary pub. It is the type of venue in which one expects to find a dashing young knight trying out the finer points of chivalry while downing a pint of ale. Open until the early hours, it is the perfect venue in which to enjoy a quiet drink or a meal from the fine carvery.

The Knights bar however is significantly more refined. It is a venue for the graduated knight, where a gentle air of serenity and class can match virtually every occasion.

Location

The hotel is located in the leafy suburb of Clontarf, just two miles from Dublin City Centre, and within close proximity to all of its visitor attractions. Places worth a visit include Christchurch and St. Patricks Cathedrals, Ceól - the traditional Irish music experience, The Guinness Hop Store - the ancestral home of the brilliant black stuff, fashionable Temple Bar with its vast selection of bars and restaurants, Trinity College, Grafton Street & St. Stephens Green, and The National Gallery to name but a few. It is just a five minute taxi journey into Dublin City Centre, and just a three minute journey to the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC), which is located in the heart of Dublin's docklands.
