North City Hotels - O'Connell Street
The Gresham Hotel is a landmark hotel right on Dublin’s main Street (O’Connell Street with 288 rooms Gresham Hotel (See Map Ref 11) is a luxury 4 star hotel. It has a comfortable expansive lobby area where generations of Ireland's more affluent folks have long enjoyed the traditional afternoon tea & cake or drinks. There’s also 2 bars and 2 restaurants. Parking is available behind for a fee. The Gresham continues to offer a good 4 quality stay for affordable prices. Look out for their special deals.
Opposite the Gresham is the Royal Dublin Hotel (See Map Ref 6) – a good standard 3 star hotel with great function rooms a lively bar. One half of the hotel (double rooms) are in a new style. Also on O’Connell Street is the 2 star Lynams Hotel (See Map Ref 5). A good value choice and on Dublin’s main street.
A the top of O’Connell Street in a restored Georgian property on Cavendish Row is Cassidy's Hotel (See Map Ref 9). Family run with a great reputation our past customers tell us what a great time they had. It is in the immediate vicinity of many major cultural and historical attractions and across the road from the Gate Theatre. The hotel itself has been completely restored, offering guests all the 21st century comforts with a nice bar with a good atmosphere and good restaurant.
The Comfort Inn Parnell Square (See Map Ref 8) is located in Georgian Dublin on the North Side of Dublin City only mins from O'Connell Street. This new hotel retains the origional facade of a grand 18th century house, but is thoroughly modern inside. Rooms have bath & shower, satelite TV and ISDN. The new Belvedere Bar & restaurant serves fine food and drinks. The Castle Hotel which faces opposite offers affordable accomodation in the heart of Dublin. Located close to O Connell street.
Around the corner from the Gresham hotel is the Academy Hotel (See Map Ref 10). A good 3 star hotel that gets very good reviews and ratings from our past customers.
Lynams Hotel is a traditional Georgian building converted into a 3* hotel with 42 ensuite bedrooms. The hotel offers good accommodation in a great, central location. The hotel is situated on OConnell Street in Dublins City Centre only 5 minutes walk from Temple Bar, Trinity College and Grafton Street.
The newest hotel in this area is Jurys Croke Park which is sets a new standard for a 4 star hotel. With underfloor heating, extra soft beds and Internet access in all the rooms with modern clean lines Jurys is a good choice if you want FREE parking and see what a hotel of the future is. Its just a 10 min walk to O’Connell Street and beside Croke Park (football venue).
