Fax: 4060222 As one of Dublin's finest modern hotels, complaints at The Fitzwilliam are few and far between, as the many positive reviews below show. Guests regularly rave about the prime location, first class service and superb food. In the past, noise from the building of the LUAS line caused some disturbance, but the now completed line places guests just a twenty-five minute tram journey away from Ireland's largest shopping centre in Dundrum. The Fitzwilliam Customer Reviews
"Excellent location, very nice staff, a little bit overpriced for the standard of accommodation. Only minus was rudeness of the manager at breakfast-didn't get her name. She did nothing in particular but was unpleasant to say the least and didn't know the words "Customers should be notified of the €200 damage insurance charge which is marked in their card account, in advance of their stay." "The accommodation was of a very high standard but the facilities were only adequate in a hotel calling itself 5 star. The spa/beauty salon was not open at times when we were told it would be, and in fact we never managed to find it open during our stay. My friends made an appointment at reception for manicures and then found it shut at the time arranged. The service was patchy - on our first morning we asked the reception desk to book the restaurant and ring us to confirm, they didn`t ring and we subsequently found out that they hadn`t bothered to make the booking. The chambermaid service wasn`t particularly good - items such as pillowslips were left in the room - but the bar staff and concierge were excellent. If they want to be known as one of the best hotels in Dublin they need to be much more consistent and have higher standards of customer service. I`ve certainly stayed in a number of top class hotels in other cities around the world that are in a different league in terms of service and facilities. "I think you could have more comfortable beds/comforters and pillows as can be found in other luxury hotels. Otherwise I was very satisfied." "although only staying for 1 night I felt that this was a perfect hotel for a visit to Dublin. The staff were very friendly and service could not be faulted. The Citron restaurant was quiet when we used it and lacked a little atmosphere, but again the food could not be faulted nor the service. "I HAVE EMAILED THE HOTEL DIRECT PRAISING THEM TO THE HILT. THE ONLY THING AS ONE OF THE DYING BREED OF SMOKERS, WAS THERE WAS NO OUTSIDE TO SIT OR SHOULD I HAVE ASKED IN WHICH CASE MY OVERSITE. OVERALL A WONDERFUL STAY." "Really enjoyed stay at Fitzwilliam. Staff very professional and service excellent. Food was very good and the ambience relaxing. One comment in relation to CD player in Rooms. Unfortunatley, for us, a guest near to our room, decided to play their CD player early in the morning, ie around 5.30am at full sound. Is there really a need for a CD player in rooms? Barbara Holland" "Excellent Hotel very quiet and very friendly superb location" "5 start very good apart from one thing being a business user always useful to have room as soon as im thee didnt get key until 1.30" "This hotel is modern, central and the staff were very efficient, friendly and helpfull. We had no complaints."
