The hotel was originally two Georgian houses owned by the inventor of the Tilly lamp. The Royal bank acquired No. 63 in the 1820's as their Dublin headquarters. In the 1870's the bank further expanded into the adjoing premises (No. 64). It was at this stage the omate Victorian facade was created. The elegantly decorated drawing room looks out on O'connell Street and is the ideal place to relax and unwind.
