Merrion Street, Dublin 2. Intl: +353-1-4127622 The Merrion Hotel
As far as most people are concerned, the Merrion is Dublin's top hotel. From the outside, the plain, understated exterior, gives no indication of the sumptious luxury & gracious elegance inside. The building itself is a listed property which has been restored with great attention to detail. The bedrooms, suites, restaurants and bars represent the best there is in Dublin. It is located opposite the Dail, ( The Irish Parliament), about 5 minutes walk from St. Stephens Green and close to Grafton Street, Trinity College, Museums, Art Galleries & Temple Bar. If you want the best and if you can afford it, this is the place for you!
Accommodation
The Merrion comprises 145 guest rooms and suites. The interior is designed using Irish fabrics and antiques to reflect the architecture and original interiors of the 18th Century Townhouses.
The Cellar BarSet in the original 18th century wine vaults under the Georgian townhouses which form the Main House of the hotel. The bare bricked walls and vaulted cellings create a comfortable, cosy and relaxed atmosphere. The Cellar Bar serves informal food at lunchtime and in the evenings using the finest of Irish ingredients. The menu includes Irish Stew, oysters and salmon, as well as old favourites such as Ceasar Salad. The Cellar Bar has its own street entrance on Upper Merrion Street or can be reached through the hotel.
