South Richmond St, Dublin 2. Intl: +353-1-4127622 Fax: 4060222 Unsuprisingly for a hotel situated over a popular pub, reviews for the Portobello are most positive from those coming to Dublin for the nightlife! The spacious rooms and the large breakfast are especially appreciated, as is the excellent value for money for those on a tight budget. Those not wanting to walk the mile to Temple Bar and O'Connell Street, there is regular public transport (LUAS, bus and taxi) available outside. Portobello Hotel Customer Reviews
"Rooms on the 1st floor are very noisy (late bar till 2.30am inc Sunday). Prior notice would have been helpful" "this was a relatively cheap hotel but the rooms were clean and quite large - a good place to stay but a fair walk away from temple bar area especially on a night time when getting a taxi was difficult. Would probably try to stay somewhere closer to temple bar next time 7/10" "Excellent and helpful service; I was even called before arriving when there was a problem with my credit card. Simply decorated but cosy rooms with a nice bathroom, and an extra plus for a BIG breakfast. All in all, a very good choice for someone looking for a cheapish option. Would recommend this to my friends. "These comments relate to the Days Hotel a bit further up the road, as I got a call the day before telling me that our room was no longer available due to flooding." "not sure when I booked it ,but it was brill, all the staff were friendly and helpful and rooms were excellent ,would recommend to others and if in Dublin again would use again ,had a really good hol thanx .also one bus to temple bar in 10 mins brill and also hotel bar great meeting place before goin out ,perfect. "Hotel was a good 20 min walk to temple bar and 10 min walk to Grafton Street and about 8 euros in a taxi. The pub underneath was handy for a meeting place and a quick drink before heading into town. The hotel itself was good, beds were comfy and rooms were clean but basic but you got what you paid for. Staff were friendly and helpful on reception. ps chefs not happy if you leave breakfast till last minute like we did the 1st morning so we made sure we went down a little earlier the next day !!!!! "our room 104 very noisy, just above the pub. Very friendly service." "The hotel is very noisy - in our room we could hear the music at full volume on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night till 3am!"
