Unsuprisingly for a hotel situated over a popular pub, reviews for the Portobello are most positive from those coming to Dublin for the nightlife! The spacious rooms and the large breakfast are especially appreciated, as is the excellent value for money for those on a tight budget. Those not wanting to walk the mile to Temple Bar and O'Connell Street, there is regular public transport (LUAS, bus and taxi) available outside.

"3 single beds requested-got 1 double,1 single camp bed both of which were fine but 3rd was sofa bed which was extremely uncomfortable due to great hollow in centre!! Dinner not available as restaurant was closed temporarily. Otherwise good value for money."

The location was good, and we were impressed with the later breakfast times and the later check out times than normally found in other hotels, to increase the amount of relaxation we could enjoy during our stay.
