Unsuprisingly for a hotel situated over a popular pub, reviews for the Portobello are most positive from those coming to Dublin for the nightlife! The spacious rooms and the large breakfast are especially appreciated, as is the excellent value for money for those on a tight budget. Those not wanting to walk the mile to Temple Bar and O'Connell Street, there is regular public transport (LUAS, bus and taxi) available outside.

"We did stay in the first floor and the music of the pub/dance hall downstairs could be noisy for those who are looking for a quiet journey, but on the contrary I could suggest that location for those who are looking for fun, because it's nice to stop an half of an hour in the pub, before to go sleep. It's also comfortable to go dinner downstairs before exiting for the Dublin's night. It is in a good place, not far from the hearth of the city and for a reasonable price. Maybe if I'll go again to Dublin I could think to go there again.

"A pleasant stay in a good location. There were some inconsiderate guests who made a lot of noise in the early hours on both nights but the hotel cannot do much about that. The window catch in the room was broken and the weather was very windy. We reported the problem to reception but no action was taken."
