"I was very pleased with my one night stay. It is about time hotels etc catered for single people accommodation at reasonable rates. "Felt comfortable and relaxed here. Puzzled by lack of tv handset/batteries strange they couldn't have found another. We were only there for one night so it wasn't too important but if we'd been there for longer we'd have liked a tv. The runner on the bed was in threads and should have been replaced before we arrived. Also noticed and smelt and experienced smokers in entrance way. Surely not allowed even when raining. Luckily it didn't reach the lounge area. "Really convenient as directly linked by bus to Dublin city center (only 10-15 mins) without the inconvenient of the downtown high prices." "We had a lovely stay at the Skylon and would go back again. Everyone was helpful. It could do with a paint in the stairs area but apart from that everything was fine." "Unfortunately my stay was marred by hooliganism. I was located on the second floor and basically was kept awake all night by a group of hooligans who went on the rampage (kicking doors, running, shouting; setting off fire extinguishers etc)in the early hours of Sunday morning. Phone calls to the desk went unanswered. I believe that the Gardai had to be called. A complaint to the desk the next morning was met with apathy. "A triple room was described on booking as 1 double and 1 single which suited our situation perfectly but on arrival the rooms contained 3 single beds which was not appropriate. In one room the middle bed was of poor quality and very lumpy leading to my mother getting a very bad nights sleep. The rooms were cold and the bed sheets inadequate. On the positive side the rooms were clean, the staff friendly and helpful and the reception areas were well looked after. Hopefully the standard will improve once the refurbishment is finished." "We thought The Sklyon was very good and easy to reach from the airport. It was a little way out of the city centre, but there were loads of buses right outside that went there. It had a nice ambience, the reception area was really nice with lots of places to sit and relax. Or you could sit in the bar area, also really nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. If, we go to Dublin again we would definitely stay there. "The Skylon Hotel lived up to all expectations we had for it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were spotless and we had no complaints at all. The location was great as we were close to Croke park for the concert and only a short bus journey into city centre which you got from directly across the road from The Sklyon. It was really easy to drive to from the North of Ireland as well as I had never driven to Dublin before, you didn't have to go into city and it was so easy to find. We would definitely all stay in The Sklyon again. I have stayed in many hotels in Dublin before but would go back to the Skylon first, especially for location.
